Begin your journey at Bakhmaro Park, where you’ll saddle up and ride towards Shedrekili Mountain. From this scenic viewpoint, enjoy panoramic views of Bakhmaro’s breathtaking landscapes. Experienced riders will even have the chance to gallop along select parts of the trail.
Next, head to Zortikeli Mountain, located on the edge of the Adjara highlands, connecting the historic regions of Adjara and Guria. This peaceful, lesser-known area feels like a step back in time. As you explore the area, encounter warm, welcoming locals who continue to live simple, traditional lives.
During the summer, many families move to Zortikeli with their livestock. They live in two-story wooden homes—animals and supplies below, the family living above. Women, known as “Memteuli,” manage both livestock and household tasks with remarkable strength and grace.
We’ll visit a local family in Zortikeli, where you can try delicious traditional dishes that you can only find in the highlands of Adjara, such as Borano, Asuta, Borano of Kaymagh, and Kaimagh.
