  • Not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries
  • Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Please note that the Acropolis may close due to extreme heat for safety reasons. If this happens and you've booked entry tickets, you will be able to get a full refund. We will notify you accordingly.
  • This tour begins and ends at Piraeus Port. If you're disembarking from your cruise and staying in Athens, you may bring your luggage on the bus. You can end the tour at our final stop in Monastiraki, before the bus returns to the port. Please inform us in advance so we can accommodate your plans.
  • IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION: Please note that visiting the Acropolis requires extensive walking, including climbing 75 steps at the entrance and navigating uneven, slippery marble paths. This can be physically demanding, especially during summer when crowds are large, and temperatures can be high. For those with limited mobility, we recommend following the guide and exploring Areopagus and Herodion instead.
  • Please note that this tour involves walking, including on uneven surfaces, and is not suitable for individuals with mobility limitations. Wheelchairs, walkers, scooters, or similar mobility aids cannot be accommodated. We kindly ask you to assess your ability to participate before booking, as refunds cannot be issued if, on the day of the tour, you are unable to join due to mobility-related concerns.

Activity itinerary

Port of Piraeus
  • 15m
As soon as your cruise ship docks, a friendly team will be waiting to greet you right in front of the ship. From there, you’ll be escorted to a modern, air-conditioned minibus to begin your journey. It’s a smooth start to a day that explores the history and culture of Athens in an exclusive small-group setting.
Pasalimani (Pass by)
As you depart from Piraeus Port, your small group will pass Pasalimani, a well-known harbor nestled in the heart of the city. This marina, lined with sailing boats and luxury yachts, offers a brief yet clear view of the area’s maritime character—a quiet introduction to Athens in an exclusive setting.
Mikrolimano (Pass by)
As the drive continues, you'll pass Mikrolimano, a small harbor known for its calm waters and scenic setting—similar in feel to Pasalimani but with its own quiet charm. Lined with boats and surrounded by low hills, it offers a peaceful view of daily life near the sea. If traffic permits, there will be a brief stop, giving your small group a chance to step out and take photos of the waterfront and city views. It’s a relaxed moment to enjoy the surroundings before continuing on..
Temple of Olympian Zeus (Pass by)
Next, your you will pass the imposing ruins of the Temple of Olympian Zeus, once one of the largest temples of the ancient world. Built in honor of Zeus, the king of the gods, this grand structure reflected the scale and ambition of ancient Athens. Though only some of its towering Corinthian columns remain, their size and elegance are still easy to admire from the comfort of your air-conditioned minibus—a fitting view on this exclusive, small-group journey through the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Arch of Hadrian (Pass by)
As the drive moves on, you'll see the Arch of Hadrian, a striking gateway built in tribute to the Roman Emperor Hadrian. This finely crafted structure once marked the dividing line between classical Athens and the Roman city that followed. With its balanced design and graceful lines, the arch captures the architectural style of both worlds. Viewed from the comfort of your exclusive transport, it offers a moment to appreciate the historical depth woven into the streets of modern Athens.
Panathenaic Stadium
  • 15m
Next, you’ll pass the Panathenaic Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro—an all-marble arena that once hosted the ancient Panathenaic Games. Its sweeping rows of stone seating and horseshoe shape reflect the athletic strength and civic pride of classical Athens. From your comfortable seat, you’ll enjoy a full view of this remarkable site, perfect for capturing scenic photos worthy of a postcard. For many travelers, it’s a favorite visual memory—one that blends history with the quiet beauty of Athens.
Acropolis
  • 1h
  • Admission ticket not included
For guests who choose to visit the Acropolis, your guide will walk with you to the main entrance. From there, you’ll explore the site at your own pace. At the center is the Parthenon—one of the most famous buildings from ancient Greece and a strong symbol of democracy. With time to take in the views and surroundings, this is a chance to enjoy one of Athens’ most important landmarks in a calm, unhurried setting. Visiting the Acropolis requires climbing 75 steps and navigating uneven, slippery marble paths, which may be challenging for those with limited mobility. Guests can opt for Areopagus Hill instead.
Areopagus Hill
  • 30m
For guests who prefer not to walk up to the Acropolis, your guide will lead you to Areopagus Hill—a nearby site with a long and important past. In ancient times, it was where Athens’ high court met and where major debates and decisions took place. Today, it offers a quieter way to connect with history, with open views of the Acropolis above, the city below, and the hills beyond. It’s a meaningful stop, made even better by the ease and comfort of your small, well-paced group.
Odeon of Herodes Atticus
  • 30m
Then, you’ll walk to the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, a stunning stone theater built into the southern side of the Acropolis. Commissioned in 161 AD, it remains one of Athens’ most striking landmarks. With its tall arches and curved seating, it’s a space that still hosts performances today. Seeing it up close in a small, well-managed group setting adds to the sense of ease and exclusivity—offering a moment to enjoy one of the city’s great sites without the crowds.
Syntagma Square
  • 30m
Then, you’ll rejoin your group and travel in comfort to Syntagma Square, the central gathering place of modern Athens. In front of the Hellenic Parliament and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, you’ll witness the traditional changing of the guard, performed every hour by the Evzones—Greece’s elite Presidential Guards. While other tours may arrive in groups of 30 or more, you’ll experience this ceremony in a group of no more than 19, giving you space to enjoy the moment without feeling rushed or crowded. It’s a calm, more personal way to take in one of Athens’ most iconic traditions.
The Academy of Athens
  • 15m
Next, you’ll pass the University of Athens, known for its grand neoclassical entrance and stately columns. Nearby, the National Library and the Academy of Athens complete a beautifully designed trio of landmarks, each showcasing classical detail and craftsmanship. Statues of Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle stand just beyond the gates, offering a quiet nod to the city’s legacy of learning. If traffic allows, your group will make a short stop—giving you the space to take photos and enjoy the surroundings at a pace that’s rarely possible in more crowded settings.
Monastiraki
  • 30m
Finally, you’ll arrive at Monastiraki, one of Athens’ most colorful and energetic squares. Known for its open-air markets and traditional shops, the area is full of character—perfect for browsing, exploring, or simply enjoying the surroundings. With time to wander at your own pace, you can discover handmade crafts, pick up a unique souvenir, or settle in at a local café for a quiet coffee. In a setting that feels both lively and relaxed, this stop offers a refreshing break from the pace of larger, more crowded tours.
Plaka
  • 30m
The tour concludes in Plaka, the historic heart of Athens often referred to as the “Old City.” Nestled at the foot of the Acropolis, this neighborhood is known for its narrow lanes, classic architecture, and inviting atmosphere. With time to explore, you can browse local shops offering handmade items and Greek specialties, or simply relax at a nearby café or taverna. Whether you’re strolling through shaded alleys or pausing to take in the surroundings, Plaka offers a calm and rewarding finish—an experience made even more enjoyable without the fast pace and noise of larger tour groups.
Cruise Terminal A (Pass by)
At the end of the tour, you'll be brought back to your cruise ship with time to spare. After a day filled with iconic sights, thoughtful pacing, and the ease of traveling in a more personal setting, you'll leave Athens with lasting impressions and a deeper appreciation for this remarkable city.
