John, known as Francis, a young middle-class man from a medieval town, and the noble Clare had the same dreams as all their peers: feats of arms, knights, Templars, crusades, music, and the fascinating tales of Provence.

Then comes a radical choice: poverty, among those lepers who say: “Simo in tribolazione k'a nata per fame et padronanza et perrokké omnia Sancti. He (Francis) wanted to go to the ends of the earth. He could be a saint; we would have a perpetual sentence of holiness.”
