After meeting near the Basilica of Saint Clare, at the fountain in front of the church, I’ll welcome you and give you the chance to enjoy a cup of coffee before we begin our guided Assisi walking tour. As we explore the city, I’ll take professional-style photos of you in picturesque and unique locations throughout Assisi, creating a personal photo album to remember your experience.

Our tour begins at the Basilica of Saint Clare, where I’ll introduce you to the life of Saint Clare and the story behind the basilica’s distinctive pink stone façade. From here, we’ll stroll through Assisi’s enchanting medieval streets, discovering hidden corners and beautiful viewpoints on our way to the historic city center.

In Assisi’s main square, I’ll share the legends and history that shaped this lively heart of the town. Together, we’ll admire the ancient Temple of Minerva—one of Italy’s best-preserved Roman temples—and step inside to see how this extraordinary structure evolved over the centuries. We’ll also pause to appreciate the single Baroque fresco gracing the square—a small but significant piece of Assisi’s artistic heritage.

Our journey continues toward the Basilica of Saint Francis, the highlight of any Assisi tour and one of the world’s most important pilgrimage destinations. Here, I’ll guide you through the Upper and Lower Basilicas, where masterpieces by Giotto, Cimabue, and other great artists illuminate the life and message of Saint Francis. You’ll learn about the symbolism, architecture, and spiritual depth that make this UNESCO site a true jewel of Italian history.

Please note: On Sundays, church regulations do not allow guided visits inside the Basilica of Saint Clare or the Basilica of Saint Francis. In this case, I will explain both monuments from the outside, and guests may enter independently if they wish.
