Originally founded in the Meiji era, our theater survived wars and became the last Taishu Engeki theater in Tokyo. Today, it continues its legacy as a beloved home of Taishu Engeki, offering visitors a rare chance to experience a living cultural tradition.

Taishu Engeki is performed by traveling actor troupes who train from a young age and live like family. Their passion shines through every performance, creating shows filled with emotion, humor, and heart.

One of the theater’s greatest charms is its intimate atmosphere. Performers tend to come down from the stage and walk among the audience to interact and connect with guests, during their performances!

Enjoy a show, where artists perform to both traditional and modern music, and wear eyecatching costumes as onnagata (female impersonators). Thrilling sword artistry and playful storytelling make the show exciting, even if you don’t speak Japanese.
