This easy-paced walking tour explores the heart and soul of the city of Adelaide around our central square, which was originally intended to have the majority of government buildings surrounding the location. See the locations of still existing government buildings as well as ex-government buildings which were prominent and compelling for their time. Hear the stories about some of the characters who inhabited the buildings and how Adelaide developed into the city it is today.

Locations along the route of the tour include the Adelaide Town Hall, the Adina Apartment Hotel, the Torrens Building, our various Law Courts, the GPO and many others.

This tour is peppered with historic stories as well as contemporary ones along flat terrain in a very walkable and well laid out city.
