Revered for its connection to the epic tales of the Trojan War, Mycenae is said to be the kingdom of the mighty King Agamemnon — the leader of the Greek forces who sailed to Troy to reclaim the beautiful Helen. As we explore this remarkable archaeological site, we’ll pass through the iconic Lion’s Gate, the imposing entrance to the ancient city, and marvel at the massive Cyclopean Walls, whose enormous stones have stood for millennia. We’ll also visit the Treasury of Atreus (also known as the Tomb of Agamemnon), an extraordinary beehive-shaped tomb built for a Mycenaean king. After our guided visit, we’ll take a relaxing lunch break in Mycenae, giving you a chance to enjoy a meal surrounded by the echoes of ancient history.
