Begin your adventure with a pickup from the meeting point in Arequipa. Head to the Chilina Valley, where your quad ride begins. Explore the lush vegetation and the proximity of the Chili River as you ride through the valley.
At the top of the park, see a sacred Huaca (temple) that belonged to the Churajón culture. The temple is a great spot for panoramic photos of the Chilina Valley and the Chili River. After the ride, return to the city center.
In the afternoon, start your walking tour from Arequipa’s main square. Visit the Church of the Society of Jesus and its cloisters, admiring the impressive mestizo baroque architecture.
Next, head to San Francisco Square, a place with a particular charm, where colonial architecture and the daily rhythm of the neighborhood stand out. Continue to the traditional San Lázaro neighborhood, one of the oldest areas, even before the founding of Arequipa. Stroll through its alleys, transporting you to many eras before.
A few minutes further and you’ll reach the Mundo Alpaca mini-zoo, where you’ll learn about one of the main South American camelids, the llama and alpaca. Observe the spinning of their fiber and have the opportunity to buy some garments made from this fiber.
Finally, head to the enigmatic Santa Catalina Convent, one of the city’s most important attractions, an unmissable tour that will transport you to the origins of Arequipa’s founding.
