What you can expect

  • Starting from Sougia port, you will hike through a lovely small gorge and beautiful Cretan nature to reach the well-hidden ancient city of Lissos. The ruins of the city are scattered throughout the area. Some buildings are still standing, such as the theatre and the Asclepium (the temple of the god Asclepius, the ancient Greek god of wellness, good health, and recovery). You will have enough time to explore the area, feel its energy, and swim in the crystal-clear sea where the ancient city's port used to be. Lissos was a famous destination for people from all over the known world who wanted to pray and ask for good health and recovery in ancient times. The tour ends with a beautiful boat ride back to the starting point, the port of Sougia village. After that you can enjoy swimming again and relaxing at the local restaurants of this seaside quiet village.
