Departing from Caen or Bayeux, we will stop in Sainte-Mère-Église, famous for being one of the first villages liberated on the night of June 6, 1944. You will immediately be immersed in the unique atmosphere of this chapter of history. Next, you’ll head to Utah Beach, where American troops landed at dawn, marking the beginning of the liberation of Europe.
Your route will take you along the stunning Normandy coastal roads to the spectacular Pointe du Hoc, where US Rangers scaled the cliffs under enemy fire. This is an impressive and deeply moving site that bears witness to the soldiers’ courage.
You will continue your journey to the legendary Omaha Beach, nicknamed “Bloody Omaha,” the site of some of the fiercest fighting during the D-Day landings. The tour continues to Colleville-sur-Mer and its famous American Military Cemetery, a place of remembrance and contemplation overlooking the vastness of the ocean.
