What you can expect

DAY 1: Arrival in Puerto Maldonado
Travelers are met at the Puerto Maldonado airport and transferred to the office for check-in. There, they are provided with information about their flight and are allowed to leave the luggage they will not need during the adventure. After waiting for the arrival of all passengers, a vehicle tour begins, which lasts approximately 1.5 hours on dirt roads.

Upon arrival at the starting point, each participant loads his or her luggage with what is necessary to spend the three nights in the jungle. Once everyone is ready, the trek begins towards the first place to spend the night. Upon arriving at point #1, the camp is set up, where each participant sets up his or her resting place. Afterwards, a fire is lit to prepare dinner, closing the first day in the jungle.

DAY 2: Trekking and Exploration
The day begins early, with the preparation of breakfast. After lunch, the group prepares to continue their hike to point #2, which is located on the banks of the Rio Grande River. Upon arrival, the camp area is set up and a brief exploration of the area takes place. A part of the team will be waiting for you in a boat with an outboard motor to carry out wildlife watching activities.

After a refreshing swim in the river, a fire is lit to cook dinner. At nightfall, the group gathers to share stories and experiences before resting at point #2.

DAY 3: Visit to the Macaw Clay Lick
The third day starts very early, at 4:30 AM, for an excursion to the most active macaw clay lick in the Tambopata National Reserve, known as COLLPA CHUNCHO. The boat ride takes about 1.5 hours, during which you can observe capybaras and, with a little luck, jaguars in their natural habitat.

Arriving at the clay lick, travelers have the opportunity to observe a variety of macaws and parrots that come to feed on the clay of the river wall. This natural spectacle is impressive, and many travelers enjoy breakfast here while bird watching. In the afternoon, there is an ethnobotanical walk of about an hour, where you learn about the plants of the region. Afterwards, there is time to swim in the river, and the day culminates with dinner around the campfire, creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and connection with nature.

DAY 4: Return to Puerto Maldonado
On the last day, after a final breakfast in the jungle, travelers pack their luggage for the return trip. They are organized to be transferred to the airport in Puerto Maldonado, concluding this memorable adventure in the Amazon jungle, full of unique experiences and the beauty of nature.
