Departure from the historic center where we will visit the most exciting part of the city, we will cycle through the narrow streets, the walls and the ancient Catalan-style houses that belonged to the fishermen’s families. We will find ancient religious buildings, the coral museum, the towers and numerous sea-view restaurants with terraces on the ramparts. We will continue towards Lido di San Giovanni, the city beach of Alghero with a beach approximately 3 kilometers long along the pleasant seafront cycle path, flanked by numerous rows of palm trees that frame the light, soft sand and the sea with shallow, blue waters. Immediately afterwards we will reach Maria Pia beach, characterized by an expanse of fine and soft white sand that surrounds a crystalline sea with a shallow seabed and different shades of blue and emerald green. Behind the beach, there are long expanses of dunes dotted with junipers and Mediterranean scrub, which divide the bathers’ beach from the extensive pine forest where you can find refreshment during the hottest hours of the day. We will make a stop at the Calich Lagoon, a ‘buffer zone’ between sea and land, with shallow, placid waters and a ‘goblet’ shape – from which the name derives -, a vital ‘lung’ where endemic plants grow, numerous varieties of rare fish and waterfowl. Having crossed the suggestive and ancient Roman Bridge with our E-Bikes we will continue towards the famous beaches of Le Bombare and Lazzaretto which will win you over with their white sand and numerous pretty coves. A few more kilometers and we will be in Punta Giglio to savor the scents and colors of the Mediterranean scrub and enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the bay of Alghero and the Porto Conte Park.
