You begin at Akumal Bay, one of the most well-known places in the Riviera Maya to observe sea turtles in their natural environment. When you arrive at the meeting point, your local guide welcomes you and explains how to move calmly and respectfully in the water without disturbing the ecosystem. You will receive your snorkel gear and life vest, and after a short briefing you will slowly enter the sea.

The water is usually clear and calm. Beneath the surface you will find areas of seagrass where green sea turtles come to feed. At a relaxed pace, you float while watching them swim, come up for air, and descend again to the bottom. It is also common to see tropical fish and parts of the reef surrounding the bay. Your guide stays with you the entire time to assist and point out marine life.

The activity lasts approximately 60 minutes in the water, giving you enough time to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. All the necessary equipment is included.

After the swim, you can stay and enjoy Akumal Beach, a peaceful place with general services and a shallow shoreline that is perfect for relaxing.
