Discover the sights of Christchurch and the Banks Peninsula with a scenic excursion that shows you the best of the South Island's largest city. You can get breathtaking views of the Southern Alps, visit the charming Botanic Gardens, and explore the bustling central city.

The tour begins with a ride along the Akaroa Highway through the scenery of Akaroa Harbour, Little River, Lake Forsyth, Lake Ellesmere, the Southern Alps, and the Canterbury Plains. Once you arrive in the city, stop for a brief visit to the Christchurch Botanic Gardens, a 51-acre (21-ha) park filled with an array of flowers and New Zealand plants.

Next, tour the landmarks of Christchurch, highlighting the damage and recovery after the earthquakes that rocked the city between 2010 and 2012. Remaining in the Central City, there will be a break in the newly rebuilt central city to explore on foot and have time for lunch. (own expense)

Visit the beachfront suburb of Sumner and Lyttelton Harbour & the Sign of the Takahe, a former manor house that offers a wonderful view over Christchurch and a great coda for your adventure.
