I lived the experience of the Argentine north with these unmissable excursions. Tour the magical Cafayate, land of wine and sun, crossing the striking Quebrada de las Conchas with its unique natural formations. I met Cachi, a charming village at the foot of the snowy, climbing up the Cuesta del Obispo and crossing Los Cardones National Park. Erosion in the region has formed a succession of natural wonders such as the Devil's Throat, a deep and closed canyon. The Amphitheater (with perfect natural acoustics). The Toad, The Friar, The Obelisk, The Castles. Gradually, the aridity of the landscape is replaced by large tracts of vineyards until you reach one of the most outstanding regions within the Calchaquíes Valleys: Cafayate, a village of single-storey houses between colonial and baroque of the late 19th century. Quebrada de las Conchas: More than 10 stops in multicolored formations caused by the erosion of wind and water such as The Devil's Throat, The Amphitheater, La Yesera, Las Ventanas, Los Castillos, etc.

Cafayate

In Cafayate you will have the opportunity to visit a winery and taste the best wines in the area. Although the region always refers to Torrontés, the place has a lot of hectares dedicated to red grapes such as Malbec, Tannat or Cabernet Sauvignon.

Cafayate

Visit the city of Cafayate and a winery. We will have 2 free hours in the city to have lunch and explore. Village of single-storey houses between colonial and baroque architecture of the late 19th century. (Lunch and drinks are NOT included in the price)

Salta

We leave from the city of Salta to San Salvador de Jujuy. We will have technical stops so that passengers can go to the bathroom or buy a snack.

We visit the hill of 7 colors, one of the most characteristic villages of the gulch of Humahuaca.

Once you arrive in Uquía, you will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle where you will begin the road to Hornocal to enjoy these magnificent panoramic views. Back you make a stop in Humahuaca for 20 minutes. It is recommended to bring some lunch or something light for lunch as there is no time to stop at a restaurant in Humahuaca.

20 minutes in the village of Humahuaca to explore and visit before returning to Salta.

We leave Salta through the Lerma Valley to the south of the province until we reach the town of El Carril to turn west and begin to head towards the Quebrada del Escoipe and the first dream landscapes. We have technical stops along the way so passengers can go to the bathroom or buy a snack.

Cachi

We arrive at noon in the colonial town of Cachi and we will have 2 hours free to have lunch and tour this unique town in northern Argentina. Its cobblestone streets with their adobe houses and cobblestones allow us to witness a place abandoned in time, which maintains its primary essence. In these 2 free hours you can walk these 10 blocks by 10 blocks that the town offers and taste its local gastronomic variety. Then we meet again with the guide to start the return to Salta.

Day 4: Full day trip to Salinas Grandes with Purmamarca

Salta

We will leave from the city of Salta, exiting through the central access of the city, taking the RN 9 and then entering the municipality of General Güemes, by the RN 34. Afterwards we enter the province of Jujuy, where we will have the opportunity to know a little bit of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, passing through picturesque towns such as Yala, Volcano (technical stop) and Purmamarca where we will find the majestic Cerro de los 7 Colores.

Tumbaya

We make a small technical stop so that passengers can go to the bathroom or buy some kind of snack.

Purmamarca

First stop in the village of Purmamarca to have a panoramic photo of the route, in front of the village, as the position of the sun in the morning radically changes its colors. At this first stop we will be approximately 20 minutes.

Cuesta de Lipan

We enter the incredible Lipan Hill, where we will take 4,170 meters above sea level and can appreciate its spectacular flora and fauna. It is a winding high mountain road, majestic with its green and brown colors showing us the beautiful landscapes of the puna.

Salinas Grandes

We arrive at the third largest salt flat in Latin America where we will be between 45 minutes to 1 hour free, to be able to tour the salt pools, sculptures, salt restaurant and take amazing photos in this huge salt flat in northern Argentina. (Locals are paid $4000 Argentine pesos approx.)
