Addis Ababa One-Hour Walking Tour

Begin your walk at the National Museum of Ethiopia, located on King George VI Street. This museum is home to the famous fossil “Lucy” (Australopithecus afarensis), a key archaeological discovery. It also houses exhibits of ancient Ethiopian artifacts, historical art, and royal regalia.

Walk to: Holy Trinity Cathedral (Duration: 10 minutes)

Head west to Menelik II Square, a prominent landmark in Addis Ababa. This square is dedicated to Emperor Menelik II, who was instrumental in Ethiopia's victory over Italy in the Battle of Adwa in 1896. It's also a great spot to see the architecture of the city and enjoy the bustling atmosphere.

Walk to: Addis Ababa University & Surrounding Green Spaces (Duration: 10 minutes)

If you still have time, take a brief walk to the Addis Ababa University campus, located just nearby. You can stroll through the university grounds, which offer a calm and peaceful environment, and get a glimpse of the famous Gada System Tree—an important symbol of Ethiopian governance and culture.
