Your guide will meet you wherever you want to start your adventure. From there, we'll hop on a public minivan with the locals and head towards Merkato - the biggest open-air market in East Africa. This is where our walking tour begins! We'll take some time to explore the market before making our way over to Piassa, Addis Ababa's city center. Here, we'll stop by Tomoca - Ethiopia's very first coffee shop. Next up on our agenda is St George Church in Piassa. Emperor Menelik built it himself and there's even a statue of him right outside! After that, we'll stroll through Doro Manekia neighborhood where famous Ethiopian authors and artists from back in the 60s-70s used to hang out. Our next stop is at Addis Ababa University's Ethnological Museum located in 6 Kilo district which also happens to be King Haile Selassie's former residence. There are so many cool artifacts here! We can't leave without checking out National Museum too where Lucy -the first human skeleton ever found- resides along with other items belonging to kings &queens as well as works created by renowned Ethiopian artists…After all that exploring, let's grab some fresh smoothies at a popular spot near Square of 4 Kilo en route towards Selassie Cathedral for more sightseeing fun!
