Balmoral Castle is an option instead of the distillery (subject to seasonal opening times).

All tours can be tailored to suit and the farm and distillery are subject to seasonal opening times and require advance booking. Please contact us for details.

Most castle grounds are free to visit, but charge for interior tours. The stepped entrance at Dunnottar, requires a degree of fitness.
You must be over 18 to taste the whisky.

Dunnottar Castle is one of the world's most iconic castles, impregnably built on a sheer headland, just south of Aberdeen. It features 1400 years of history and the Vikings and William Wallace (Braveheart) fought battles here. Free to see from outside but charges for internal tours.

Fascinating 16th Century Castle with turrets, gargoyles, 16th-century painted ceilings and ancient, great yew hedges and walled gardens set in magnificent surroundings. Castle is free to see from outside but charges for internal tours.

The world famous, Royal Lochnagar distillery, which was established in 1845, is a single malt Scotch whisky producer based near Balmoral Castle or The Glen Garioch Distillery, one of Scotland's oldest. You will be able to learn how it is made and sample some drams. Tours are £20pp.

Balmoral has been the Scottish home of the Royal Family since it was purchased for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852. A must on all visitors to see list.
