What you can expect
Begin your adventure at the breathtaking Royal Palace of Godollo, once the beloved residence of Queen Elisabeth of Hungary, also known as Sisi, whose enduring legacy lives on within these walls. This Baroque masterpiece, commissioned by the influential Count Antal Grassalkovich - a close confidant of Empress Maria Theresa - whispers tales of opulence, political intrigue and timeless romance through its gilded halls and lush gardens. The palace is not only Hungary’s largest Baroque palace, but also a symbol of imperial grandeur, designed by famous architect Andras Mayerhoffer, blending Viennese elegance with Hungarian flair.
We invite you for a cup of coffee and cake in the patisserie. You will have the opportunity to discover the Sisi themed souvenir shop, where the famous Sisi cream liqueur is also available.
After a guided tour rich in stories and splendor, we invite you to a gourmet lunch with drinks served in a charming horse farm – the perfect opportunity to relax and indulge in Hungarian flavours. But the day doesn’t end there.
Saddle up for excitement as we whisk you away to the Lazar Brothers’ Horse Farm, where tradition meets adrenaline. Visit the stables where world champion horses are held, the small Museum of the Lazar Brothers and the Mini-Zoo with rare heritage Hungarian breeds like Racka sheep, Hungarian donkeys, Puli dogs, Mangalica pigs, etc.
Witness a dazzling equestrian show, meet majestic horses, and experience the spirit of Hungarian horsemanship up close in traditional Hungarian costumes – all set against the backdrop of rolling countryside and authentic charm. The show features traditional Hungarian carriage driving techniques, including four-in-hand driving, pony carriage demonstrations, a rustic wagon drawn by majestic Hungarian Gray Cattle, and the spectacular “Koch 5” – a unique five-horse formation rarely seen elsewhere.
Your journey concludes where it began – with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel. Yet the experience lingers: the captivating stories of history and culture will stay with you long after the ride ends. It is more than just a tour – it’s a memory woven into the rich tapestry of Hungary’s past.
