wildlife, wilderness, medieval history, royal grandeur,
and the trails that connect all of it.

This itinerary uses Brașov as your base. You return
here each evening. No daily packing. No logistics to
manage. Each morning begins with a pickup and ends
with a different version of Transylvania behind you.

DAY 1 — Brașov: City Layers & Hidden Trails
Walking tour through the medieval Old Town — the Black
Church with 119 Anatolian carpets, hidden fortifications,
Rope Street. Afternoon: Pietrele lui Solomon, the ancient
Dacian site above Șchei, for an intro section of Via
Transilvanica — National Geographic top 25 for 2025.
Dinner table arranged in the Old Town, meal paid directly.

DAY 2 — 7 Ladders Canyon & Piatra Craiului
Seven chambers carved by waterfall erosion, iron ladders
bolted into rock face. Optional zip-line descent — 37
sections through Carpathian forest, paid on site.
Afternoon: Piatra Craiului National Park, villages of
Magura and Peștera at 1,000 metres. Traditional Romanian
mountain picnic at the vehicle — included in price.

DAY 3 — Bear Watching & Szekely Enclave
The emotional centre of seven days. Professional enclosed
hide, sessions timed to peak bear activity. Wild,
unhabituated Carpathian brown bears at close range. If
no bears appear, the hide entrance fee is refunded in
full on the spot — no forms, no conditions. Return
through the Szekely enclave with full cultural context.

DAY 4 — UNESCO Saxon Heritage
Biertan: three concentric walls, nine towers, a lock
shown at the 1900 Paris Exhibition, divorce room where
Saxon couples were locked for two weeks. Divorce rate
effectively zero. Sighișoara: only inhabited medieval
citadel in Europe, birthplace of Vlad the Impaler.
Viscri: King Charles III's village — traditional lunch
with local producers available, paid on site.

DAY 5 — Royal Castles
Peleș Palace — Europe's first electrified castle,
Klimt ceiling paintings, hidden door in the Royal
Library. Bran Castle — real history and Dracula legend,
explained honestly. Râșnov Fortress — panoramic views
across the Bârsa valley and Carpathian range.

DAY 6 — Făgăraș Fortress & Rupea Citadel
Făgăraș: moat fortress with willow-lined water, walls
8 metres thick, Renaissance halls and Communist
political prison history from the 1950s. Rupea: a
120-metre basalt cliff with settlements dating to
5500 BC — Dacian, Roman, Saxon, all layered on the
same rock. The Bacon Tower. The pentagonal gateway
unique in Europe.

DAY 7 — E-Bike Finale & Departure
The last morning on electric mountain bikes through
the Carpathian forest above Brașov. Drumed Vechi for
confident riders, SKV Post mountain hut on the ridge
for everyone. The best possible way to end seven days
in Transylvania. Drop-off at Brașov, Bucharest or
Sibiu — confirmed in advance.
