Activity itinerary

Day 1: Maun to Central Kalahari Game Reserve (CKGR)

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

You will be picked up from Maun (airport or hotel) and driven into the vast Central Kalahari Game Reserve, a journey of around 4–5 hours. Lunch will be served en route. On arrival at your campsite, settle in before heading out for a late afternoon game drive. Experience the magic of the Kalahari as the sun sets over the endless horizon. Dinner and overnight at your CKGR campsite.

Day 2: Full Day in Central Kalahari

Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Rise early for a light breakfast before setting out on a morning game drive in search of black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetahs, oryx, and springbok. Return to camp for brunch and some rest during the midday heat. In the afternoon, enjoy another game drive, exploring the wilderness further. In the evening, relax around the campfire, followed by dinner and stargazing. Overnight in CKGR.

Day 3: Central Kalahari to Nxai Pan National Park

Nxai Pan National Park

After breakfast, we drive approximately 4–5 hours to Nxai Pan National Park. Lunch will be enjoyed along the way. Upon arrival, settle into camp before heading for an afternoon game drive across the shimmering pans, famous for large herds of zebras and springbok during the migration season. Dinner and overnight at Nxai Pan campsite.

Day 4: Explore Nxai Pan

Enjoy a full day of safari activities in Nxai Pan. Early morning game drive in search of elephants, giraffes, lions, and cheetahs. Visit the iconic Baines’ Baobabs, a group of giant ancient trees made famous by artist Thomas Baines in the 1860s. Return to camp for brunch, rest during the heat of the day, and head out again in the late afternoon for another game drive. Overnight at Nxai Pan campsite.

Day 5: Nxai Pan to Makgadikgadi Pans – Sleep Under the Stars

Makgadikgadi Pans National Park

After morning game drive, depart Nxai Pan and head to the edge of the vast Makgadikgadi Pans (approx 1hr 30mis). Here you will meet your quad bikes and embark on an adventurous ride into the pans. Visit the meerkats and enjoy their playful antics before continuing across the salt flats to your camp set up under the stars. Tonight you will experience the magic of sleeping out on the open pan — no tents, just a bedroll under a blanket of a million stars.

Day 6: Return to Maun

Wake up to a magical sunrise over the salt pans and enjoy breakfast before making your way back by quad bike to the vehicle. From here, you will drive back to Maun (approx. 2hrs 30mins) with a picnic lunch en route. Drop off at Maun hotel or airport in the afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable safari adventure
