Etosha National Park is renowned as one of the best game reserves in Africa and is a haven for wildlife and supports one of the most important ecological and wildlife systems on the continent. At 22,270 km2 this huge park hosts an impressive collection of game including the white rhino and endangered black rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, elephant, giraffe and numerous species of antelope as well as an impressive 340 species of birds – enough to keep any nature and wildlife enthusiast happy. Etosha Pan is a massive salt pan located in the Etosha National Park in Namibia. Covering an area of approximately 4,760 square kilometers, it is one of the largest salt flats in Africa. During the rainy season, the pan becomes a shallow lake that attracts thousands of flamingos and other water birds. During the dry season, the pan turns into a massive white expanse of salt, attracting animals such as zebras, springboks, and elephants that come to drink the mineral-rich water that seeps to the surface.
