Day One: Wellington – Rotorua

Travel by road from Wellington to Rotorua via the Kapiti Coast, Palmerston North, the Central Plateau (home to several active volcanoes), and Lake Taupo before arriving in Rotorua by late afternoon. Get checked in and spend the rest of your day in Rotorua at your leisure.

Evening Accommodation: Millennium Hotel Rotorua or similar

Day Two: Rotorua

Visit Whakarewarewa - The Living Maori Village and experience Rotorua's famous Maori culture and geothermal activity with a tour of the Thermal Valley - a place where mud pools bubble and boil and geysers shoot steam high into the air. The tour concludes early afternoon with the remainder of the day at leisure.

Evening Accommodation: Millennium Hotel Rotorua or similar

Day Three: Rotorua – Waitomo Caves – Auckland

Travel from Rotorua to Auckland by road via the Waitomo Glowworm Caves: an incredible must-see guided tour of the caves by boat through the glowworm grotto. Arrive in Auckland by mid-afternoon where you will be transferred to your central city accommodation, at which time your tour will conclude.
