It is Jordan's largest desert and one of the most impressive desert landscapes in the world. From the terrain, flora, and fauna, the sites, and the culture of the local Bedouins, there is much to be seen and experienced in Rum, whether it be on a jeep tour, camel trek, hiking or even on a hot-air balloon ride. Depart Wadi Rum for a 3 hour trip to the Kerak castle. Kerak Castle is a large medieval castle located in al-Karak, Jordan. It is one of the largest castles in the Levant. Construction began in the 1140s, under Pagan and Fulk, King of Jerusalem. The Crusaders called it Crac des Moabites or "Karak in Moab", as it is referred to in history books.
