After a day spent with orangutans, you'll head back to Medan for a good night's rest before boarding a ferry to Lake Toba, the largest volcanic lake in the world. Located on Samosir Island in the middle of the lake, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the culture of the Batak people, one of the indigenous tribes of Sumatra. Visit traditional villages, witness traditional dances, and sample local delicacies, all while surrounded by the stunning beauty of the lake.
Day 1: Lake Toba Tour From Medan (14 Hours, Start: 7am, Finish: 9pm)
• 07.00am: Pick up from your hotel and greeted by your driver/tour guide. Proceed on a 4-hour journey to Parapat Lake Toba via Pematang Siantar Town – 2nd largest city in North Sumatera—and pass through many rubber and palm oil plantations.
• 09.00am: En route, stop at Patent Shop to buy local food products such as Teng Teng or Ting Ting.
• 10.00am: Visit Kwan Im Temple at Siantar
• 12.00am: Arrive at Parapat, a town on the shore of serene Lake Toba. Transfer to a local restaurant for lunch.
• 01.00pm: After lunch, we'll take a ferry trip across the crystal clear waters of Lake Toba to Samosir Island. The island is the center of the Batak Toba culture, and many of these people’s artifacts remain on the island. Visit Tomok Village to see the ancient tomb of King Sidabutar.
• 04.00pm: Transfer back to Parapat.
• 5.00pm: Return to Medan.
• 09.00pm: Arrive at Medan and drop off at your hotel.
Day 2: Orangutan Bukit Lawang Tour From Medan (14 Hours, Start: 6am)
• 06.00am: Pick up from your hotel and greeted by your driver/tour guide. Transfer to Bahorok, Bukit Lawang (3-hour drive).
• 09.00am: Arrive at Bukit Lawang and prepare to hike to the jungle.
• 10.00am: Then hike up the hill through the Sumatra rainforest with a local tour guide and enjoy your time by exploring the activity of Orang Utan and taking photos. Enjoy your time by exploring the activity of orangutans.
• 12.00pm: Simple lunchbox in the jungle.
• 04.00pm: After the visit, return to your assembling point by tubing (down the river with a tube of truck)
