The route follows the Trishuli River, with rolling hills and terraced fields keeping you company. Take a break midway for lunch before the road winds upward to the beautifully preserved hill town of Bandipur. Once a bustling trade hub between Tibet and India, Bandipur still exudes old-world charm with its cobbled streets, restored homes, and panoramic views of Manaslu and the Annapurna range. It’s the perfect first stop to ease into the journey.

Distance: ~100 km | Ride Time: 4–5 hours The ride from Bandipur to Kusma is relatively short but rich in local flavor. Pass through picturesque villages, terraced farms, and mid-hill settlements. As you approach Kusma, the landscape becomes more dramatic, with deep gorges and hanging bridges. In fact, Kusma is known for having one of the world’s highest suspension bridges, stretching over the Kaligandaki Gorge. Distance: ~110 km | Ride Time: 5–6 hours Now the adventure intensifies. After breakfast, ride through Beni — the gateway to Mustang — and gradually ascend alongside the Kali Gandaki River. The tarmac gives way to gravel as the air grows thinner. This stretch offers thrilling off-road riding and raw, untouched scenery. You’ll ride under cascading waterfalls, across wooden bridges, and past wild cliffs as you approach Lete, a small settlement nestled beneath Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri. This is true Himalayan wilderness

Distance: ~80 km | Ride Time: 5 hours Today, you’re riding to Mustang's spiritual core — Muktinath. Pass through Marpha, a beautiful Thakali village famous for its apple orchards and whitewashed alleys.

Continue through Jomsom, the district headquarters, and begin your ascent to Muktinath at 3,800 meters.

The journey is challenging, with narrow tracks, loose gravel, and alpine winds. Upon reaching, visit the revered Muktinath Temple, where 108 water taps and an eternal flame await. It’s a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists — a powerful place to pause and reflect.

Distance: ~100 km | Ride Time: 5–6 hours After an early morning walk or meditation near the temple, you’ll start your descent back through the Kali Gandaki Valley. The ride down is smoother but still thrilling — with cliffs, switchbacks, and dramatic mountain views all around. By afternoon, you’ll arrive in Tatopani, a village named after its famous natural hot springs. Distance: ~100 km | Ride Time: 5 hours Continue your descent into the lowlands as pine forests give way to rice terraces and colorful towns. The ride is more comfortable today as you reach Pokhara, Nepal’s most popular lakeside city. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel, take a stroll along Phewa Lake, and enjoy the luxury of paved roads and laid-back cafés. A great evening to celebrate the halfway mark of your ride. After a series of long riding days, today is for rest and discovery. Wake up early if you like and ride up to Sarangkot for sunrise views over the Annapurna range.

As you return to the bustling city, you’ll carry with you the dust, memories, and pride of having completed one of Nepal’s most iconic bike rides.
