What you can expect

  • The extended version of Northern Circuit route includes two extra days to get proper acclimatization before overnight at Crater Camp. Situated close to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro at the altitude of 5790 m, this is the highest overnight possible at the equator, so we will do our utmost to make your Kilimanjaro climb comfortable, as well as unforgettable. Only a lucky few can lay claim to having seen the night skies at this altitude and they are indeed a sight to behold: Kilimanjaro Glaciers against the backdrop of the Milky Way! While such ascents are never without their risks, the Alaitol Safaris Team has both the expertise and equipment to ensure your safety at Kilimanjaro Crater Camp.

    Itinerary

    Day 1 : Arrive Tanzania
    A staff member will escort you from the airport to your scenic lodge in the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Overnight: Ndarakwai Ranch (4,200').Meals:Dinner

    Day 2 : Ndarakwai Ranch
    Spend an acclimatization day shaking off the jet lag at Ndarakwai Ranch. Look for wildlife on leisurely hikes through the ranch's extensive grounds.Overnight: Ndarakwai Ranch. Meals: Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner

    Day 3 : Begin Trek to Shira 1 Camp
    Overnight: Shira 1 Camp. Meals:Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner. Hours trekking: 1-2

    Day 4 : Shira 1 to Moir Camp
    Overnight: Moir Camp. Meals:Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Hours trekking: 4-5

    Day 5 : Moir to Pofu Camp
    Overnight: Pofu Camp.Meals: Breakfast,Lunch and Dinner. Hours trekking: 5-7
