Nestled in the elegant grounds of Middleton’s Hotel, within York’s historic city wall, and enjoy a lively, one-hour introduction to three centuries of English gin-making. Begin with a perfectly poured York G&T on arrival, featuring our gold award-winning London Dry gin paired with Fever-Tree Light tonic (or lemonade, if you prefer).

Led by one of our friendly York Gin experts, you’ll enjoy generous tasters of up to five other award-winning gins. Along the way, pick up tasting tips and uncover the fascinating history of gin itself, its glamorous highs, its murkier lows, and its place in York’s own colourful past.

Known as the most haunted city in Europe, York has plenty of dark tales. From Guy Fawkes’ failed Gunpowder Plot to the legendary highwayman Dick Turpin, you’ll discover how these characters and stories connect to the spirits in your glass. Our motto is “History in the Tasting” for a reason. Each gin tells part of York’s story, from Georgian elegance to Victorian intrigue.

The experience includes a small selection of nibbles and concludes with another full-size G&T featuring your favourite gin. Plus, enjoy 10 % off any purchases on the night.

All this takes place in a stunning speakeasy-style setting designed for intimacy and enjoyment - ideal for couples, friends, or small groups of up to 28 guests. Tickets are £35 per person. Tastings are typically held daily at 4pm or other sessions can be arranged on request.
