What you can expect
Thanks to LivTours’ exclusive partnership with the Palace of Versailles, you’ll enjoy privileged access to the King’s Private Apartments — the intimate Petit Appartements normally hidden from the public. Reserved only for those personally admitted by the king, these secluded chambers allow you to walk in the footsteps of Louis XIV and his inner circle. Alongside this rare experience, you’ll also explore the grand palace and its legendary gardens in all their splendor.
Your journey begins at the striking equestrian statue of Louis XIV, standing proudly before Versailles’ iconic golden gates. With skip-the-line entry, you’ll step past the crowds and inside the estate with ease.
In the gardens, admire the results of a remarkable 30-year restoration, designed by Gérald Van der Kemp, as you wander through an enchanting labyrinth of fountains, sculptures, and perfectly manicured groves. After the gardens, your guide will lead you into the palace itself.
Originally a modest hunting lodge built by Louis XIII, Versailles was dramatically transformed in the 17th century by Louis XIV into the ultimate symbol of royal power and European grandeur. Inside, you’ll hear stories of court intrigue and extravagance as you take in opulent salons, gilded corridors, and rooms once filled with the rituals of royal life.
In the King’s Private Apartments, discover precious objects from the monarch’s personal collection, including the famed constellation pendulum clock and an exquisite equestrian statuette. Explore unique rooms such as the porcelain-lined dining chamber and richly decorated private bathrooms. Depending on the day of your visit, your exclusive access may also include the magnificent Royal Opera House or the palace’s historic cathedral — adding an unforgettable final highlight to your Versailles experience.
Your passport ticket includes access not only to the palace and gardens, but also to the Trianon Estate. After your guided tour, you are free to continue exploring independently, including visits to the Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, and the Queen’s Hamlet.
