What you can expect

  • This is a group excursion to the Salar de Uyuni, where you'll explore this vast white landscape. Throughout the tour, you'll have an experienced Spanish- or English-speaking driver/guide, who will take you safely across the altiplano, share insights about the local culture, and help you take the best photos.

The activity starts at 10:30 am from our office in Uyuni as the departure point. Then you'll visit the Train Cemetery, a historic site where old locomotives are located.

Later, you'll arrive in Colchani, the gateway to the salt flat, where you'll learn about the artisanal work with salt and local products.

After that, you'll enter the salt flat to explore extraction areas and the former Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, now converted into a museum. Before continuing, you'll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch.

You will also visit Incahuasi Island, known for its huge cacti and panoramic views. Admission to the signposted trail is available for an optional additional fee of approximately 5 USD. (Note: Access to Incahuasi Island is restricted during the rainy season, from January to March, due to the high accumulation of water. If there is a change in the itinerary, we will inform you well in advance, so that if you wish to cancel your booking, you can do so with a guaranteed 100% refund.)

In the afternoon, you can enjoy a stunning sunset in the middle of the salt flat, accompanied by a red wine tasting and snacks. In addition, if conditions permit, you'll be able to see the famous mirror effect, where the surface reflects the sky, creating an otherworldly landscape that's perfect for unique photos.

The experience is rounded off with stargazing, where you'll admire the dazzling night sky.

To end the experience, we'll head back to Uyuni. At approximately 8:00 PM.
