Embark on a private tour of the Alentejo countryside, considered one of Portugal's best wine regions. Make visits to Évora, the UNESCO-listed home of the famed Roman Temple, Cathedral, and Royal Palace. In addition, see the village of Monsaraz, adjacent to Alqueva, Europe's largest artificial lake.

Get pickup up from your hotel by your private guide and travel to Évora, one of Portugal's oldest cities. Walk the UNESCO-listed streets, making stops at the ruins of the Roman Temple, the gothic Cathedral, and a variety of historic points of interest around the walls of the Royal Palace. Once you depart the city, head for Alqueva, Europe's largest man-made lake, and see the nearby village of Monsaraz.

Admire the landscape of Alentejo, and learn about the region's rich history of winemaking. Your guide talks about cork trees and their importance to production, and you even get to stop at a local winery to taste a local varietal. At the end of the tour, return to Lisbon by crossing the Vasco da Gama Bridge over the Tagus River.
