Considered the largest urban forest in the world, Cantareira occupies an area that covers more than 160 acres (65 ha) and has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. You can try out your choice of hiking trail, with different levels of difficulty for you to choose from:
Pedra Grande Trail:
With nearly 6 miles (9.5 km) of steep terrain, this hike will take approximately 3 hours to complete. Your destination is a great cliff that provides an incredible view of the entire city of Sao Paulo.
Waterfall Trail:
This trail is approximately 1.8 miles (3 km) long and takes you on a 2-hour hike through dense forest. On this tour, you will encounter 3 waterfalls in which you can refresh yourself.
Bica Trail:
A leisurely trail that shows off the diversity of the Atlantic Forest, this 0.9-mile (1.5-km) route will take just 1 hour to hike.
