Nikka Yuko means Japan-Canada Friendship and we invite you to experience the friendship and learn about the history of the garden, those who founded it, and the hardships faced by Japanese-Canadians in the local area after the war. Enjoy a variety of cultural experiences, programming, and performances throughout the summer season. Sip a green tea as you stroll through the pathways, or sit quietly beside the dry rock garden and meditate on the patterns. Enjoy sake or a Japanese beer as you watch Minyo dancing performances or watch matcha whisked to perfection as you learn about the deeply traditional tea ceremony. Before you leave, be sure to ring our Friendship Bell and send a message of goodwill to all who hear the sound across scenic Henderson Lake.
