The culinary adventure lasts three hours and unfolds at the residence of a Costa Rican family close to La Fortuna. To start off, you will be introduced to the family members who will lead you through this authentic experience. And then before diving into cooking, we will wander around their farm to collect fresh ingredients. These will then be taken to the kitchen, where we will commence preparing a delicious meal as a team.

Then we will light the traditional wood stove, which we will use to heat the pots and pans, providing texture, color and flavor to our main ingredients. Our menu includes rice, black beans, picadillo, fried plantains, a fresh green salad, and a mouthwatering homemade chicken stewed. A highlight of the class will be when we learn to prepare, step by step, a palm-made corn tortillas that are deeply rooted in Costa Rican heritage, which will become a delicious complement to our meal.

Upon enjoying the dinner we have crafted, our next adventure will involve exploring the farm trail to discover the nocturnal world, observing nighttime creatures like insects, snakes, birds, and mammals. Our final destination will be the enchanting natural frog lake, where we can marvel at different species such as the red-eyed green frog, the masked tree frog, and, with luck from nature, the stunning glass frog.
