The zoo showcases around 20 of the 80 alpine mammal species, 60 of the 200 bird species, and nearly all fish species found in the Alps.

Special tours are available for visitors with disabilities, utilizing the zoo's bear mobile for a comfortable experience. The Alpine Zoo plays a crucial role in nature and species conservation, participating in several European Endangered Species Breeding Programs (EEP) and European Studbooks (ESB).
