After a morning pickup from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter, relax on the 2–2.5-hour drive south to Ninh Binh, often called “Ha Long Bay on land”. Your guide will share stories about local life, history, and the landscapes you are about to explore.

Your first stop is Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam in the 10th and 11th centuries. Walk through peaceful courtyards and visit the ornate temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le. Learn how this small valley once played a key role in defending the country, and admire the limestone cliffs that surround the ancient citadel.

Continue to the spectacular karst scenery of Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Board a traditional sampan rowboat, steered by a local boatwoman, and glide along a calm river that winds between cliffs and rice fields. Pass through dark, low caves, emerge into wide open valleys, and enjoy the quiet atmosphere that makes Trang An so special. There will be plenty of time to relax, take photos, and enjoy the scenery at your own pace.

After a delicious Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant (or at a place of your choice, if you prefer), head to Mua Cave. From here, follow the stone steps up the hillside to the famous dragon viewpoint. The hike is short but steep, and you will be rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of rivers, rice paddies, and limestone mountains stretching across the landscape. On clear days, this is one of the most impressive views in northern Vietnam.
