The breathtaking sights of central Ecuador await you on this day trip along the Avenue of the Volcanoes. Visit the spectacular high country of the Andean páramos and admire the round crater lake in Quilotoa for an unforgettable look at the world of the great South American mountains.

Your tour starts with a ride from your hotel that takes you south of Quito, passing by the towns of Latacunga and Pujilí on your way. Stop to visit a local straw house, built in keeping with centuries-old Andean tradition, to meet a local family and get to know the customs of the people on the mountains.

Next, visit the town of Tigua, famous for its colorful paintings that show scenes of local life, as you continue to the slopes of Quilotoa. Descend to the shores of the lake that rests inside the crater, and admire the jagged ridge of the caldera surrounding the water, before a drive through the beautiful highland landscape carries you back to Quito.
