You will be transferred from Vientiane to go to Ban Hatkhai, where you will be taken up stream on the Nam Mang by long-tail boat before moving along one of its tributaries, Houay Xai. You will join a 2-hour trek to go through an evergreen canopy when gaining height. On the way, you will have a picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, you will reach the magnificent pair of waterfalls Tad Xay and PhaXay, particularly beautiful during and after the rainy season. You will have some relaxing time at Tad Xay which has a pool perfectfor bathing.

Approximately: 2.5 hour transfer, 1 hour boating & 2 hours trekking

End of 1 day tour: You return to Vientiane from Ban Hatkhai

Boating: In the dry season, you are not able to take long tail boat on HouayXai stream, so you continue the boat ride further up steam on Nam Mang to meet another trekking starting point on the river bank (2 hours trek)
