What you can expect

Meet your guide or driver-guide at your chosen meeting point — either Odori Park at 08:30, or JR Sapporo Station North Exit Bus Parking Area at 08:45 — and set off on a scenic journey to Cape Kamui. Admire the deep, clear “Shakotan Blue” waters as you walk along the mountain ridge trail, offering panoramic sea views and the legendary Kamui Rock. Once a mysterious “forbidden place for women,” it is now a mecca for photographers and nature enthusiasts.
Next, head to the Shimamui Coast, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and selected as one of Japan's “Top 100 Coastlines.” Walk through a short tunnel to the viewing area to admire the dreamy hues of the sea, a blend of mint green and Shakotan Blue, and overlook the magnificent coastline surrounded by cliffs.
From late June to mid-October, guests may choose between two options for the next stop: visit the Yoichi Distillery Museum, or enjoy a fruit-picking experience at Nitori Tourist Orchard or Yamamoto Orchard (approx. 30 minutes, cost not included). Outside of this season, all guests will visit the Yoichi Distillery Museum. Founded by Masataka Taketsuru, the “father of Japanese whisky,” the Yoichi Distillery offers a glimpse into the history and charm of Nikka whisky through the Nikka Museum, covering the brand's history, whisky-making process, and the story behind the brand. Please note this itinerary includes a museum visit and exterior views of the distillery grounds only — it does not include a guided factory tour or access to the inside of the distillation facilities.
Finally, visit the romantic port city of Otaru, boasting the Otaru Canal, completed in 1923 and renowned for its graceful curves and rows of red-brick warehouses. Once a commercial hub from the Meiji to the Taisho eras, it was known as the “Wall Street of the North,” and offers a rich variety of seasonal culinary delights.
The tour concludes at JR Sapporo Station North Exit Bus Parking Area at approximately 18:30. Please note that the tour does not return to Odori Park.
