When booking, you pay ONLY FOR THE SAFARI through GetYourGude. Then PAY FOR THE TAXI (From Mirissa to Tissamaharama and From Tissamaharama to Ella) US$-100 (up to 3 guests) with Visa/ Master or SL Rupees at Ajith Safari Office in Tissamaharam, before starting the Safari. Beyond 3 guests, TAXI FEE will be increased, US$36 Per Person.

In this tour, we are aiming to be in the YALA National Park at dawn or dusk. These are two of the best times of the day, which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, YALA is recognized as the National Park with the highest leopard density in the world.

What happens on a typical day on safari?

A. Pick-up time at 3.00 a.m. - in and around the Koggala/ Ahangama/ Weligama/ Mirissa/ Matara/ Dondra/ Talalle area.
All pick up times - (Morning Safari - 3.00 a.m. / Afternoon Safari - if you want to have lunch before the safari select 11.30 a.m. / else 12.00 p.m.)
The time in the Morning Safari (3.00 a.m.) is the most recommended. Adjust the times in the itinerary according to the pickup time you select.
Transfer vehicle is an Air-conditioned car or minivan with luggage space and on SHARING BASIS.

B. Get down from Taxi at Tissamaharama.
Make the payment for the Meals (if requested)
Get into the SHARED SAFARI VEHICLE - at around 5.30 a.m.
You can safely leave your luggage in taxi, while you are enjoying the safari.
Here, you can have 30 minutes break to have lunch before the safari by selecting the 11.30 a.m. pickup time in Afternoon Safari.
(You can additionally buy lunch from us - USD 10 Per Person)

C. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 1st Game Drive (Starting at 6.00 a.m.)

D. Break at Patanangala Beach in YALA National Park (20-30 minutes)
This will give you time to enjoy your breakfast

E. Morning Wildlife Safari/ 2nd Game Drive (Ending at around 9.30 a.m.)

F. Get down from the safari vehicle and get into the Taxi - at Tissamaharama at around 10.00 a.m.

G. Optional - If you prefer, take a 20-minutes break Near Rawana-Ella waterfall, on the way to Ella. (Free of charge) If you get down from Wellawaya, you will not see the waterfall.

H. Drop-off in Ella/ Bandarawela/ Wellawaya area at around 12.00 p.m.

Your safety and comfort is our top priority, so we use only the rugged Toyota Hilux 4x4 vehicles for the safari, specially equipped to navigate the YALA National Park's diverse off-road conditions easily.

Your knowledgeable driver cum guide will regale you with insights into the behaviours and habitats of YALA's diverse wildlife.

NOTE Ajith Safari Jeep Tours has been a safari operator for more than 30 years and also an authorized company to offer safari services in YALA National Park, all of our 4X4 vehicles have the necessary approvals and all of our drivers have the special licenses to provide their service as safari drivers in the YALA National Park, which are issued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka.
