Your tour will begin with a convenient hotel pick-up from your accommodation in Kandy. Meet your guide/driver, who will provide a brief overview of the day’s itinerary.
Once at the Damro Labookellie Tea Centre, your guide will take you on a fascinating tour of the tea factory. You’ll learn about the full tea-making process, from the plucking of the leaves to the rolling, fermenting, and drying stages. The factory is known for producing high-quality Ceylon Tea, so you will also gain insight into the different types of tea, including black, green, and white tea.
After the tour, enjoy a traditional tea tasting session, where you can sample a range of freshly brewed Ceylon teas. The tasting is accompanied by an explanation of the different types of tea and their health benefits.
After the factory visit, you will have time to wander through the lush Labookellie Tea Garden. The estate’s sprawling green fields offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and other tea estates.
Next, drive to the Blue Field Tea Factory. You will witness the processing of fresh tea leaves into the high-quality tea bags and loose tea sold globally.
