Perkara yang anda boleh jangka

  • Maglić is not climbed by accident. At 2,386 metres, it is the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the trail to the top is not for everyone. But with an experienced guide, this is an achievable goal that very few people forget.

The day begins in Foča. A 4WD vehicle takes us to Prijevor in an hour and a half, to the trailhead at the edge of the primeval forest. From here, the alpine trail begins two hours of ascent to the summit of Maglić. The trail is demanding but safe with a guide who has walked this route hundreds of times. From the top, you can see both Bosnia and Montenegro the border between the two countries runs directly across this peak.

From Maglić, we descend toward Trnovačko Lake, a three-hour hike through some of the wildest terrain in the entire region. The lake waits at 1,517 metres green, clear and cold. The rest here is earned. Swimming, packed lunch, silence.
On the way back to Prijevor and the vehicles, the final stop is the Perućica primeval forest viewpoint a panorama overlooking Skakavac waterfall and the vast canopy of one of only two remaining primeval forests in Europe.

We return to Foča after approximately 12 hours. This is not a tour for everyone but for those who dare, it stays with them forever.
