Overview

  • Once the tour is booked, you can go to the rental point to pick up the bicycles and start the experience with virtual navigation.

    The e-bike loop tour starts from Capoliveri and measures about 25 km with 520 m of positive elevation gain: medium level. The route alternates paved roads, trails, secondary roads, and a short singletrack, with regular climbs and dirt sections that require a minimum of Guide confidence.

    Leaving the village, the path crosses the promontory of Monte Calamita between Mediterranean scrub and views of the sea, with views of the bays and the hills of eastern Elba.

    The heart of the itinerary is the Capoliveri Mines area, characterized by iron-rich rocks, terraces, and old mining facilities. The contrast between the red of the earth, the green of the vegetation, and the blue of the sea makes this scene particularly evocative. The return follows the eastern side of the promontory up to Capoliveri.

Capoliveri (Pass by)

Capoliveri is one of the most characteristic villages of the Island of Elba, perched on the slopes of Mount Calamita. Its origins date back to the Roman era, when the place was linked to grape cultivation and mining activity. The historic center preserves medieval alleys, arches, and staircases, in addition to splendid views of the sea and the southern coasts of the island.

The Capoliveri Mine, on Mount Calamita, is one of those places where the Island of Elba shows its most surprising face: an almost "lunar" landscape, carved by iron extraction, which nevertheless opens up suddenly to incredible sea views. Here the history is not only in the stories: it is written in the steps of the quarry, in the old machinery, and in the traces of the work that marked the local community until the closure of the Elban mines in 1981. Today the area is visited through the Old Workshop Museum and paths that literally take you into the world of the miners, between industrial archaeology, wild nature and colors of earth and rock unique in the Mediterranean.

Tenuta delle Ripalte (Pass by)

The Tenuta delle Ripalte extends over the southeastern slope of the Island of Elba, between vineyards, Mediterranean scrub, and splendid views of the sea. The area retains traces of ancient Etruscan smelting furnaces, while the farm was founded in 1896 by Count Tobler as a modern agricultural business. Today is known for wine production and the unspoiled landscapes of Monte Calamita.

Spiaggia Di Buzzancone o Cera

Buzzancone Beach, also called Cera, is a small wild cove on the east coast of Capoliveri. Nestled between two rocky headlands and surrounded by Mediterranean scrub, it has sand mixed with gravel and clear waters. Its secluded position, at the foot of Mount Calamita, preserves the most authentic aspect of Elba and its ancient link with the sea.

Spiaggia di Calagrande

Calagrande Beach, located on the eastern side of Capoliveri in the Gulf of Cala Nuova, is a small bay surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. Its clear waters and tranquil seabed create a secluded and evocative environment. The landscape preserves the historical link of the territory with the iron mines of Monte Calamita, exploited for centuries and today part of the identity of Elba.
