The Gal Vihara is a rock temple of the Buddha situated in the ancient city Polonnaruwa. he rock carved Buddha statues are absolutely stunning and full of history. You can really feel the calm and sacred energy there. The rock-cut Buddha statues are absolutely stunning, showcasing the incredible craftsmanship and spiritual depth of ancient Sri Lankan art. Each sculpture, carved into a single granite rock, radiates a sense of peace and serenity. Royal Palace-Witness a slice of history while walking around the ruins of the palace. A historical record says that it had 1000 rooms, but today you can see only ruins of 55. The building is made up with thick brick walls. Still you can see the remaining two arrays of holes, done on the wall to hold the structure of the wooden floor. You have to climb few steps and reach the palace premises. The middle area dedicated for king and its 100 feet in width and length.
