In this 2- to 3-hour-long guided tour we will discover Budapest and its history from a special angle: from above.
I will take you to special spots of the city from where you can get great views on Budapest from bird's eye view.
I will talk about the history of Budapest, and that of Hungary while 'flavouring' my speech with interesting stories about the greatest figures of Hungarian history: big monarchs, generous noblemen, renowned architects, genius craftsmen and artists to whom we can mainly thank Budapest's today's cityscape, and the most well-known Hungarian composers and poets some of whom I will even show you on beautiful bronze public statues.
You will also hear about the everyday life of the residents of Budapest in the past and nowadays and about legends related to Hungarians kings and saints.
I will tell you among others how Budapest became a new, modern metropolis of Central Europe at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, what a splendid boom took place in this city in the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy's era, how the public transportation of the city evolved with such inventions like the first underground railway system powered by electricity in the world. We we will even go some stops with this latter one, the Millenial Underground Railway of Budapest!
I will show you the great attractions of City Park, a splendid park which is one of the 'lungs' of Budapest.
In this tour you will also learn about Hungarian traditions and culture, about the special products of Hungary, the so-called Hungaricum products some of which I will also show you.
If you are interested in gastronomy and catering - like me - one more interesting element is included in this tour for you: we will pass by a coffee house which preserved its original form from the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy's era.
At the end of the tour I will entertain you with a unique Hungarian folk music performance by singing you beautiful Hungarian folk songs from different regions of Hungary and showing you traditional Hungarian folk dance steps.
