What you can expect
At the Avignon Tourist Office. Your guide will welcome you and introduce you to the tour and its themes.
The adventure begins!! at the meeting point!!
The magnificent Square Agricole Perdiguier and the Temple Saint-Martial, a former Benedictine monastery, are the ideal starting point for the guided tour.
This remarkable site takes us back to the origins of the town's independence, when it became part of the Venaissin County in the 14th century.
For the next stage, we walk along the ancient ramparts of Avignon, which have now disappeared, stopping briefly to discover the historic monuments we come across.
We then arrive in the Rue des Teinturiers, a lively place during the summer season, the Sorgue canal that surrounds the bell tower and the apse is ideal for taking photos.
We'll then take a stroll down the rue de la Bonneterie, home to numerous craft shops and art galleries.
There will be a break at the famous Central Market, where all participants can enjoy some free time and discover the many regional products on offer.
A few steps from the Halles market, the Saint-Didier square and its impressive Collegiate, magnificent and imposing example of southern Gothic architecture, the visit of the interior is just as surprising.
To finish the guided tour, we will visit a Palace of Cardinal of the fourteenth century, the Livery of Ceccano which was the residence of one of the richest Cardinals of the city, Anibal de Ceccano.
Finally we arrive at the start of the guided tour at the Avignon Tourist Office, a drink is offered to all the participants in a nearby Pub Restaurant.
