Day 1: Auckland – Waitomo– Rotorua

Depart Auckland at 6:20am and travel through the scenic Waikato region. Visit the spectacular Waitomo Glowworm Caves, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour. Continue to Rotorua, arriving in the early afternoon.

Accommodation: Rotorua - 4 Star standard

Day 2: Rotorua

Visit Whakarewarewa - The Living Maori Village to experience Rotorua's remarkable geothermal landscape and discover the traditions of the local Maori community. Your visit includes a guided tour and an authentic cultural performance. Enjoy the remainder of the afternoon to explore Rotorua at your own pace.

Day 3: Rotorua via Taupo to Wellington

Travel south through the heart of the North Island, passing the shores of Lake Taupo and the dramatic landscapes of the Central Volcanic Plateau. Continue along the picturesque Kapiti Coast before arriving in Wellington in the early evening.

Accommodation: Wellington - 4 Star Standard

Day 4: Wellington – Picton – Kaikoura

Cross Cook Strait aboard the Interislander or Bluebridge Ferry to Picton, then continue south by Coastal Pacific train or coach (seasonal) to Kaikoura. Arrive in the late afternoon..

Day 5: Kaikoura Whale Watch - Christchurch

Enjoy a whale-watching excursion with Whale Watch Kaikoura before travelling south through the rural landscapes of North Canterbury to Christchurch, arriving at approximately 6.30pm, where your Auckland to Christchurch journey concludes.
