You can't beat the location of Sandbanks hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. I would not go into the swimming pool again as I found it very difficult to get in and out via the awful metal steps. As most of the guests were elderly I doubt if any of them would use the pool. The Haven pool is much safer with wide steps.

Waiter /waitress were overall unfriendly. They look liked being unhappy to be working in this hotel. Breakfast room was dirty especially plinth along windows. The overall state of the hotel including furnishing, fabric and furniture looked dated.

The inside of the hotel was lovely but it looked tired on the outside. Our room was great but was let down by the bathroom. I understand the hotel is closing in October until May so maybe some improvements are being made. That said staff were delightful and location is perfect

Perfect Break
Had a fabulous stay, the staff and facilities were awesome and whilst not the most luxurious the location and service were faultless! We will definitely return! The free upgrade and card/chocolates were appreciated adding to what can only be described as a perfect break!!

The Sandbanks Hotel’s location is fantastic, on a wonderful beach. We stayed in a balcony harbour view room which was very clean but very dated. The room was large and the balcony was fine. I understand some rooms have been refurbished but our room, 236 had not. Breakfast was tasty and all of the employees were welcoming and friendly.

Our Annual Getaway
We aim to stay @ Sandbanks Hotel about this time every year , we love waking up to the sound of the sea in the morning , we found all the staff to be very helpful & friendly, the Amalfi Restaurant food is excellent as too are the beach veranda Bar @ the Breakfast choice is amazing , On the down side this old hotel & rooms are starting to look tired , although this does'nt detract from our wonderful stay here !

The hotel is in need of some TLC but is in a lovely position For people that are visiting make sure you request a bath mat they are not supplied as standard and the baths are very very slippery I was super careful and still managed to slip down.

The building was tired and had horrible smell outside in the car park area . Waiters at breakfast were all in jeans and trainers. Outside bar was not table service and drinks expensive ( drinks were cheaper in Rick steins!) breakfast was good however . Reception staff good too . The fish tank on entrance needs a dam good clean . Rooms clean but the cleaner banged on door at 9am to do our room then sent her away and she was there in the afternoon when we returned to our room to get changed and asked us to come back in ten minutes !!!!

Very old - inside and outside. No maintenance or upgrades done. Even the fish tank at reception was dirty and not maintained at all - cruelty to the fish. Overall, for the amount of money you spend there you would expect a lot more! Not going back there.

The hotel is perfectly situated to cater for a family holiday right on the beach with all facilities at hand especially with its own wood fired pizza to order and eat on the beach. We loved the beach and indoor pool for any change in the weather.

The room was spacious, well furnished and very clean. There is only one lift, that goes to the second floor only. There are stairs to the third floor. We had lengthy walks along long corridors to our room. We were offered help with luggage when we checked in, but declined it as we didn't realise what a trek it would be! My husband has reduced mobility, so a warning would have been useful. All staff were polite, friendly and otherwise helpful. The breakfast was very good, as was the evening meal in the Italian restaurant.

Staff are the stars here.
The staff at this hotel are excellent & you would have a long way to go for a better beach & seaview. Room service would have been nice though, don't get me wrong the free buffet breakfast was great but I would have enjoyed it all the more had it come to me instead of me having to go to it. The extra cost for a room with a balcony with sea view was well worth it having morning tea out there was just lovely.

Perfect location. Downside was no room service, no air con, weak shower, limited dinner menu and most of the food came cold/luke warm. However, would stay again as food not the most important thing.

The location is all. the sea facing terrace is great for afternoon relaxing in the sun, comfy chairs, parasols and a bar. The beach (all 8 miles of it) is a unique feature - you can walk all the way to Bournemouth along the promenade (3.5 miles), and then walk or bus back. Other than the beach there is not a lot else apart from the well-known restaurant 5 minutes walk away.

We were pleasantly surprised by the lovely sea-view single rooms. The restaurant was good, as was the buffet breakfast, although it was a pity that the sausages contained gluten, as this is quite unnecessary.

Sandbanks Hotel sadly very poor in many areas…
Very limited lunch menu served in boxes & my pizza was uncooked even on 2nd visit back to kitchen so not eaten despite being £16.50! Unable to leave your debit card behind bar or even run a hotel tab. We had to keep going and actually collecting our own drinks no waitress or waiter service for food either. Very poor! Family room kids window opened onto balcony next door & hotel guest was there peering into kids room! My Daughter said the bunk beds were on par with her pgl school trip. Room cost approx £700 for 2 nights so I would of expected something better than this! Great view of beach which was an add l £40 per night as I didn’t want to overlook a car park despite hotel on low capacity. Such ashame as could of been so much better & we will not be revisiting!

We hope to make this trip to the sandbanks hotel this time every year , we like the ocean view room with balcony , it's not cheap but worth it ! the breakfast is very good & the Amalfi Italian restaurant is excellent !

Great location right on the beach but the hotel was rather shabby and the rooms were a bit tatty. The carpets were dirty throughout the hotel. The whole hotel in need of an update. Overpriced

Overall a lively stay!
We love this area as I grew up here. The room was okay although it felt dated (especially for the price) and the shower was awful!! The balcony was lovely with a fantastic view and the outside terrace bar was also fantastic! We felt the service in the reception and the Amalfi was excellent, but not being able to put things on the room was annoying. We were told we had to pay cash for a glass of wine as the card machine wasn't working. We feel the rooms could do with modernising for over £300 per night!

From the outside the property looks a little dated but once inside I was really impressed. The comfort of the room, the service from all of the staff, the food (we had breakfast included then chose to have lunch on the day of checkout) are all great. The location was second to none, we have a 2year old and he loved being on the beach and it was literally right there at the bottom of the hotel. Little play park for kids too which was a nice surprise. As I said, a little dated but everything else far exceeded my expectations.
