Decided to stay here as it was close to the ferry bringing us from Thailand, as well as the ferry taking us onto Penang.
The hotel is about 1 mile from the ferry port, and we walked there. It was hot, but we managed, even with our rucksacks. A taxi should be reasonably cheap though.
The hotel is pretty close tot he centre of Kuah Town, and there are shops, bars and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. However Kuah Town was a little sleepy with not much going on whilst we were there (although it was a combination of the Thai New Year as well as the prophets ascension).
The room was an okay size and the bed was comfortable. It was very clean and the bathroom was nice too.
Reception was helpful, giving us advice on car hire and advising that they offered a free breakfast (toast/jam/tea/coffee).
Good place to stay
