Ok hotel
Rooms need an upgrade Asked for an iron and was told to come get it . Tried to book a wake up call , was told no and that I should set an alarm on my phone. Simple things that can make a difference

Good smart hotel with friendly helpful staff. Great location to hire bikes from the hotel and explore the area on exceptional network of cycle paths. Limited facilities in room e.g. no iron, bottled water, mini bar or safe etc. Perfectly comfortable for what we needed.

Indeling kamer was niet okay, via toilet naar de kamer gedeelte. Ontbijt start om 8uur ipv 7uur zoals vermeld op de website. Oplossing ontbijtpakketje meegekregen maar brood belegd zonder boter. Verder prima hotel!

great stay in this time we live in
In this time we wilve in it is not easy to have a hotel with all the rules Asteria have made the best of this and everything is done with the guests in mind it was a great break for me and my wife just so we could have a nice night together and a great meal in our room hope the world gets back to normal but i would say to people if you need a short break from home or just to get out from home then this is a great place to stay

OK, not really worth paying the price for SUITE!
While service and helpfulness of staff was fine, the room (suite) was not very good and not a value for money. It was outdated and likely to have bed bugs as we are (1 day later) coming up with bites. Suites should have better amenities, given that rooms below this category had sauna and nicely refurbished showers. We didn't even have a shower cubicle (instead a not so good corner bath) and arriving back to hotel to see our room at 1am meant that we couldn't be bothered to even complaint and just got on with it. TV signal was terrible too. The breakfast which was included was just OK, perhaps a greater variety of warm meals would have worked. We had to wait 30 min to receive a warm meal

In need of renovation
It's the second stay for us, however this time we were given a not renovated room and we were apalled by the difference! I have to say, I was a little discusted by the state of the bathroom! There is no ventilation or possibiliy to open a window in the bathroom, black joints between the tiles in the bath (no separate shower) , broken sink, all just looked very grubby and outdated. I expect better form a 4* hotel. When I addressed the issue with reception I was told, that they were aware of this fact and that the rooms would be renovated sometime soon and that some had already been done. However, we were not offered a better room! And I couldn't help the feeling that because we didn't book direct this time, we got the grubbier room. Two years ago I booked direct and got a much better one, otherwise we would not have gone back!! Also, there is a ventilation going on (if your room faces in that direction) until about midnight that can disturb the light sleeper. On the positive side, the food is still very good!

Nice Hotel close to Venray town
Asteria hotel is a warm & friendly place...relaxing and an excellent restaurant menu. The staff are extremely well trained & nothing is too much trouble. It has a pleasant outside dining area. This was our second visit we enjoyed our stay so much in 2017.

All of the rooms only accommodate for double beds which are less than ideal as a single traveler! Food at the cafe also is not the best but their daily breakfasts are pretty nice

Good hotel, clean and easily accessible, next to the motorway. In the room we could hear the traffic, but it was not disturbing. Unfortunately there are only twin rooms at the comfort level, no double rooms. This was unfortunate because usually our son of 2 yo sleeps between us. Staff is very friendly. Because we had to leave early, the lady at the reception immediately offered to make a breakfast pack for us. And even in that they were very flexible, with extra fruits, etc. The room itself was maybe a bit outdated, also the bathroom, but all was very clean and we had a pleasant stay.

Breakfast was fair-good. The Grapes Served with the fruit assortment weren't washed and had some mold on them, no attempt was made to remve the inedible ones from the good. The in-room sauna is a very nice touch but feels too much like direct heat on the skin, a lot like just sitting in close proximity to space heaters so it wasn't very comfortable.

I stayed only 1 night which was great. The personal is very helpfull and smiling. Only thing is that a kettle is missing in the room (no tea, no coffee). I was expecting to have it for a 4 starts hotel.

Three day business stay so no time to check out the neighborhood. Breakfast was ok but dinners were great with plenty of tasty choices. Room was spacious and quiet with a good bathroom. Great value for money so will definitely come back when in town.
